Govt collects $590 million from traffic ticket amnesty

The Government collected $590 million during the three-month traffic ticket amnesty that ended last month. Of that amount, $119 million was collected on the final day.
The Ministry of National Security has said that $2.2 billion was owed in outstanding traffic tickets.
On Tuesday, National Security Minister Robert Montague announced that the Government had extended the traffic ticket amnesty by another 45 days.
The holders of unpaid traffic tickets now have until January 13, 2018, to settle arrears.
