Father in Bahamas jailed for having sex with daughter

A High Court judge in the Bahamas has sentenced a 58-year-old man to 15 years in jail after he pleaded guilty of sexually abusing his daughter in 2016 when she was 10 years old and continuing until she was 12-years-old.

The man, who accepted a plea deal, will following his release from prison, be placed on probation for two years.

Justice Renae McKay accepted the guilty plea to the five counts of incest and received credit for time spent on remand.

The man, whose name was not disclosed to protect the child's identity, has been told that he will be sentenced to one year in jail, if upon his release he commits and offence while on probation.
