Not sure if I can manage this young woman

April 14, 2023

Dear Pastor,

I am 60 years old and I have been reading your column since you started to write in THE STAR. I have introduced your column to many people.

I was married, but my wife passed away, and I am hoping to find another wife. I expect to be criticised by saying that I am hoping to find another wife, but I am a strong man. I was working for the government, but I have retired. I do not have to work because I am getting a good pension, but I cannot stay by myself for long.

I am a churchman and I do see lovely girls, and I find myself lusting sometimes. Right now I think I have seen someone in the church. She told me that she believes that we would make a good couple, but she is afraid that people are going to say that she is after my money. I have two houses and just before my wife passed, I bought a new car. I do not owe money on the car and I don't pay mortgage. I am not writing to you because I want you to help me find a wife. I think I have found one, but she is much younger than I am, so I want your opinion. Should I go further in this relationship?

This young woman is 34. Is a 34-year-old woman too young for a 60-year-old man? I have a sister who is 70 years old and I told her about this young lady and she laughed and said this young lady is going to rock my back out and put me out of commission.

What do you think, Pastor? Please, give me your opinion.

B.B.
