Big fight from ‘Big Boy’

A valiant effort from Rusheen McDonald in the final of the men's 400 metres fell just short as he was edged at the line at the Tokyo World Athletics Championships, finishing fourth in 44.28 seconds.

McDonald would have thought he won the bronze medal just metres away from the line, but he was edged by Botswana's Bayapo Ndori who took the podium position in 44.20.

Busang Kebinatshipi took the world title in a world leading 43.53, with Trinidad and Tobago's Jereem Richards taking the silver medal in a national record of 43.72s.
