Assault victim donating part of compensation money
An employee of the Transport Authority, who was assaulted by a taxi operator while he was conducting his duties, asked that half of the money that he receives as compensation be handed over to the Maxfield Park Children's Home.
The complainant made the request yesterday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, after the defendant, Kenroy Hall, agreed to make compensation for the injuries he inflicted in the incident which occurred earlier this month. It was reported that Hall threw a bottle that hit the complainant in his face which caused bruising and swelling. Hall pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm before Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole- Montaque.
He is to make compensation in the sum of $30,000 and was granted a week's extension to accumulate the funds. Hall is to return to court on April 21.
