Three guns seized in St James

The St James Police seized three firearms and over 30 assorted rounds of ammunition just before Christmas.

Reports are that between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Monday, a team of officers conducted an operation at a premises in York Bush district in St. James where they seized one 9mm Taurus pistol with a magazine containing fourteen 9mm rounds, a Browning 9mm pistol with a magazine containing ten 9mm rounds and six .38 cartridges.

Six persons were taken into custody in relation to the seizure. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.

And during another operation in Glendevon, a disassembled 9mm Beretta pistol was seized. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
