Reggae singer Derrick Pitter is pleased with the response to his recently released single, Give Dem What Dem Want.

"I'm happy about the support that my single is receiving. it's getting a lot of airplay in Jamaica, and other places, including The Bahamas. I'm grateful and appreciative for all the love it's getting, and I want to big up all the DJs who are playing it," said the artiste.

The Spanish Town-born singer is currently working on his debut album, aptly titled Reggae, slated to be released next year.

"I'm very excited about this project; my team and I are working hard to make an excellent album. It's going to feature 12 authentic reggae songs, the type of songs that all true reggae lovers can appreciate," said Pitter.

Pitter recorded his first single while he was still in high school at St Andrew Technical. The song, Feelings of Love, was produced by legendary Jamaican producer Harry J and released on his Harry J Records imprint in 1980.

Some of Pitter's other releases are King Pharaoh's Army and Play Mr Music Play (both on the Tamoki Wambesi label), and For A Dollar (Waves International).
