Aunt trying to find her child’s dad

January 05, 2024

Dear Pastor,

I'm writing on behalf of my aunt. She's trying to find the father for her son. His name is Oswald Daley and goes by the name 'Guthrie'.

He's originally from Hanover. They met in Kingston in the '70s. He used to work at a hardware and lumber store in Kingston. He was living in Waterhouse, where he rented a room from a man named John Guy.

On December 23, 1972, my aunt gave birth to his son, Ernie Daley. He used to visit his son when he was a baby. She relocated and he didn't know where to find them. He told her that he had two daughters. He had a friend named Jamesy, who I learnt passed away. My aunt and her son now reside in the USA and her son wants to know his dad, his siblings and other family members.

They would be grateful if you could publish his story in your column. I am anticipating a positive response. Thank you, and may God continue to bless you tremendously.

J.H.

Dear J.H.,

Your aunt has taken a long time to find the father of her son. He used to visit her after she gave birth.

Evidently, she left the area without informing him of her new address. I suspect that he has tried to locate her and his son. So we publish this letter, hoping that he will see it or that anyone who knows his whereabouts will contact us for more information. What a wonderful year this would be if his son is able to get to know his father.
