Girlfriend thinks my private parts look abnormal

Dear Pastor,

I can say that I know you very well although I have never met you personally. I always read your column.

I believe it is 10 years now that I have been reading it, and I am 22 years old. From the time I started to get concerned about myself, I thought of writing to you. I never discuss my concerns with anybody. But I have a girlfriend and she likes to explore my body. I had other girlfriends, but they didn't feel me up. I used to have sex with them only at nights and in the dark.

My present girlfriend is two years older than I am and she lives alone. Sometimes when she has her days off, she tells me to come and spend the day with her. Most times, it is on a Saturday that she is off. She likes to cook soup on a Saturday. Sometimes we spend all day in bed. One day, she was examining my penis and she asked me how come one of my testicles is longer than the other. I did not know what to say. She said it must be abnormal. Anyhow, that did not prevent me from satisfying her in bed. But every time she takes off my clothes, she spends time looking at my genitals.

I asked my older brother if he has that problem and he said that he had not observed it, but I shouldn't worry myself about that if I am not in any pain. My girlfriend is always going down on me. I used to push her off, but now I stop doing so because it does feel good when she does it. She is the first girl who has ever done that to me.

My mother used to bathe me, even when I started to attend high school, and she never asked me about the length of my testicles. Do you think I should go to the doctor and check myself out?

Dear J.D.,

From what you have written, I do not believe that you are abnormal.

Mark you, I am not a medical doctor, but from my own studies, I have learned that one testicle is a bit longer than the other and that is considered normal. But you don't have to take my word for it; you may wish to ask a urologist, or even a regular doctor, whether or not I am correct.

You said your mother used to bathe you even when you started to attend high school, and she never discussed that with you. Some mothers bathe their children even when they are much older than 10. A dear lady told me that when her son was much older she still bathed him, and he had a very large penis and he became embarrassed about the size of it. He spoke to her about it, and she had to assure him that nothing was wrong with him, and that his father's penis is very long. So don't worry about what your girlfriend said to you.

This woman is 24 years old, and perhaps she has had lots of boyfriends and she liked to examine their genitals. So don't allow what she has done to upset you. You like what she does to you, you have said that. But I want to assure you that from what you have written, nothing is wrong with you; you are not abnormal.

One final word before I go. I hope that this young lady and you will eventually get married. Don't practise casual sex all the time. Try your best to work on getting a good education. You will not regret educating yourself, and putting God first in your life.
