Wife left me after I could no longer please her

August 29, 2023

Dear Pastor,

I am 51 and I am having a troubling problem. I am a farmer and I enjoy my farming. I strained my back and I have not been able to perform as I used to.

To make it worse, my wife left me and told me off. She said I was no good. I only heard that she was in America, but she never told me she was leaving the island. I had money in the bank and both of our names were in the account. She cleaned out the account and left me on my face. Her relatives told me that she is done with me. I knew that, because she cursed me and told me that when a man can't satisfy his wife any more, he is done.

Pastor, I have my own home and she walked away from this place. After she was away for two years, I got involved with another woman. She has four children, but because I know I need the care of a woman, I told her she could bring her children and take care of me. Two of the children are living here with us; they are teenagers and they are respectful. They have their own room. The woman had her own room, too, and I had mine, but now she and I are together. We live like brother and sister, because most times my back is giving me problems and I have to listen to my doctor. The treatment is also very expensive, but my children help me out. They also help this woman who is my caregiver. What I give to her is from my children and it helps to send the children to school.

When my wife left me, I had over $500,000 in my account and she took out every cent. I know she was trying to punish me, but because of my back problem, I could not satisfy her. Every cent I had in the account was mine. My children have told me that I should try to build up my account again. I closed it and opened a new one.

I will not lie to you Pastor, I love this woman who is taking care of me. I love my soup on Saturdays and she takes care of that. My clothes are taken care of and the house is clean. My two children are not in touch with their mother. They don't like the way she treated me, but I told them not to hold that against her.

When my son was visiting me, he talked to my caregiver and told her to open an account in her name and the children's names only. His name is now on my new account. I am not sure that I will ever be back to where I used to be, but the therapist said that there is still hope for me. I have a wheelchair that I use to move me around whenever I am in pain. I am glad that I have two lovely children.
