Can edible condoms harm me?
Dear Pastor,
I am 19 years old and I am dating a 25-year-old man. Every day I am learning new things about him, and from him.
When I met him I was going to college, and I almost dropped out due to financial problems. But this guy and I started to live together. My father didn't like the idea, but I had no choice because my father was not well, and could not work to put me through college. So this man and I started to live together. Sometimes he can be very aggressive, but I know he loves me and wants the best for me.
I want to ask you about something that has puzzled me for a long time. I cannot discuss this with any of my friends, so I am turning to you. To celebrate our first anniversary of living together, my boyfriend bought some edible condoms. I was reluctant to use them. But as I tried them, it was fun. The first time we used them, I felt as if I was choking, but I learned to relax. They come in different flavours. I am wondering if these types of condoms can affect me later on. As I said, I have not discussed this with anybody.
My boyfriend loves when we use them. Now that I have got accustomed to using them, I can say that I like the chocolate flavour, but what I really want to know is whether they can affect me. My boyfriend and I are hoping to get married when I am 21. I would like us to get married before that, but we are planning to save to buy a house. I hope to hear from you. My boyfriend does not know that I am writing to you.

Dear F.W.,
I would suggest that you discuss this matter with a medical practitioner, especially a gynaecologist. There are edible condoms. I am sure by now that that does not mean that a woman literally eats the condom, which is made out of latex. They are lubes that are tasty gels designed for certain types of sex. You can do this research on your own.
These types of condoms, or edible lubes, will not kill you. They enhance sexual sensation which only your partner and you would enjoy. You have got into it, although at first you were very concerned about whether the condoms would hurt you. Women know how much they can use, and that comes from experience. I will stop here and suggest to you again to discuss this with your gynaecologist.
