David White tramples Portmore to emerge domino champ

The home of horseracing was captured by domino enthusiasts last Sunday as the Supreme Domino Master Series made the third stop in the quest to crown a national domino champion at Caymanas Park, Portmore.

More than 200 participants turned up to compete for the title of Portmore's domino champion in the uber-competitive cut-throat series.

David White walked away with bragging rights, $150,000, and automatic qualification for the grand finale. Milton Meredith finished second to collect $100,000, while Romane Savage and Keron Baxter won $75,000, and $50,000, securing third and fourth, respectively.

Gary Peart, executive chairman of Supreme Ventures Limited, basked in the success garnered at the Portmore.

"I must extend hearty congratulations to Mr White on claiming victory. It has been a day of fantastic, nail-biting competition, and based on the turnout we've been getting, it is evident that this is something we should've done years ago.

"Nonetheless, I remain awed by the passion and expertise displayed by the players, and I want to thank each and every participant and spectator who has contributed to our success so far," asserted Peart.

An overjoyed White expressed that he was confident coming into the tournament and never lost sight of the prize, even when the matches became incredibly intense.

"I am the best right-handed domino player on this side of the equator. Coming into the tournament, I was extremely confident because I knew that no matter what happened, I was going to be victorious. It feels really good to come out on top, claiming victory over 200 other competitors,'" shared White.

The tournament's next stop will be in May Pen, on May 7, 2023.

The Supreme Domino Master Series has, thus far, crowned three community champions and encourages those interested in participating in the tournament to purchase their tickets from any of the 16 ticket outlets islandwide, including Fontana Pharmacy branches, select Texaco service stations, Supreme Ventures Retail Centres, Pier One, and online at caribtix.com.
