Mother among duo charged with sexual molestation of 14-y-o

Two persons, including the mother of a 14-year-old girl, have been charged in connection with the sexual molestation of the child in St Catherine.

They accused are facing multiple charges, including three counts of sexual touching, three counts of grooming a child, trafficking, conspiracy, aiding and abetting, and misprision of felony.

Police investigations revealed that between June 1 and November 22, the girl's mother allegedly conspired with the male accused and took her daughter to his dwelling, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately.

The man reportedly gave the complainant $34,000, which she then passed to her mother.

A report was made to the Spanish Town Police, prompting an investigation that led to the arrest and subsequent charging of both accused.

A court date is being finalised.
