Passengers flung from bus in major crash on Highway 2000

Traffic police and emergency crews rushed to the East-West Corridor of Highway 2000 this afternoon after a major crash involving a public passenger bus left several people injured.

Preliminary reports indicate that a number of passengers were flung from the bus on impact.

An eyewitness told The STAR that some of the injured were seen lying motionless, but stressed that only a doctor can confirm any deaths.

Passengers could be heard begging for medical help as first responders worked to assist the injured.

So far this year, there have been 337 road fatalities from 297 crashes.
