NWC 'forced' to suspend operations at Williamsfield

September 22, 2023
Residents from across several west Kingston communities now access water from just one source -– a standpipe near the St Anne's Catholic Church.

The National Water Commission is reporting that it has been 'forced' to suspend operations at its Williamsfield pumping station.

The commission says this decision has become necessary to allow maintenance teams to assess the chlorination system at the station.

The affected areas include:

Williamsfield                                       Fort William

Strawberry                                           Glenbrook

Sections of Flower Hill                       Grange

Welcome                                              Content

Friendship                                            Red Hills

Barham                                                 Locust Tree

Baulk                                                    Blackheath

The NWC is assuring customers served by the system that it will spare no effort to resume operations in the shortest possible time.
