Student refused to answer math problem
A schoolgirl refused to answer a maths problem after claiming it violated "girl code". Maddy Douglas may only be nine-year-old but she decided that an exam question went against what her mother had taught her about friendships.
According to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, the fiercely loyal student explained: "I can't answer this question because my mum says according to girl code you shouldn't date a friend's ex-boyfriend."
The question required students to write down which boy had dated which girl in what order.
Her mother was clearly proud of her daughter's boycotting behaviour.
She shared a photo on Facebook of the exam paper alongside the caption: "#girlcodetrumpscommoncore (sic)."
The image sparked a debate on whether the problem was age appropriate.
