After 25 years together, singing quartet L.U.S.T. says some of their fondest are from some of the quarrels they've had as a group.

In a sit-down with THE WEEKEND STAR at the Intimate concert at Grizzly's Plantation Cove, St Ann, on Sunday, L.U.S.T. shared that the journey to being a world-renowned musical act has been riddled with ups and downs.

Tony Curtis explained, "We did it because we believe in what we were doing. We stand up strong and we believe in what we a do, so we just keep doing it regardless of COVID or what, so it's a beautiful journey for us."

Concurring with his group mate, Lukie D added, "With any group, you have your ups and downs and them things deh. But you see L.U.S.T. now is a group weh comprise of four solo artistes, so nuh ups and downs cyah mash we up."

Of the two and a half decades together, the guys are in a agreement that one fight in particular stands out.

"The fun memory of L.U.S.T. a when me see two man go at it on tour, verbally. Because we cuss all the while enuh, but what we cuss about, we cuss about different ideas that each other have. Nothing disrespectful. So when we see that all the while, we laugh about that because that is fun to me. Because at the end of the day, all a wah we a cuss 'bout, we still a end up back to one thing," Lukie D said, seemingly trying to play coy before being outed.

"Tell the people people dem a who and who did a fuss man, tell them!" Curtis urged, before adding, "A me and (Singing) Melody did a fuss and fight!"

Sharing a collective laugh at the memory none of them could pinpoint the date of, Curtis admitted that the altercation became physical but fizzled out shortly after that.

"None a we never win 'cause him tump me inna me eye and me tump him back inna fi him eye," he said.

Ever the lover, Singing Melody admitted, "Definitely me cry 'cause me love cry. Mi very emotional when it come to certain things, especially with my brothers them."

He continued, "The other part of it is that when we're on tour together, we enjoy each other's company. It's a magic to see it. We don't need outsiders to make up laugh because those two man deh over deh so a real comedian dem. So you a go laugh, everything weh dem say a go be a joke. So me just do most a the laughing."

The group is now looking forward to its anniversary album, Sliver, which marks 25 years of L.U.S.T.

"We just want to use that as a foot-in to take us on the road while we're going on the tour," Melody explained.
