Queenie in happy tears post clash win
After a crowd-shaking clash between social media sensations-turned-artistes Queen Ladi Gangster and A'mari DJ Mona Lisa, which ended with Queenie claiming the victory, the Double Tap deejay has dedicated the win to her daughter, who died in October 2021.
Through a flood of tears, the self-proclaimed queen told THE STAR, "She ago say 'Mommy, you a St Thomas gyal and you a lucky gyal'. She so believed in me. So me affi work hard fi ar, you get me."
While things took a physical turn during her clash with A'mari, Queenie chalks up her win to the pureness of her heart.
"So anuh just war. You haffi have pureness," she said, breaking down once again.
While A'mari was being ushered away by her son and daughter, she did tell THE STAR the odds seemed to be skewed in the queen's favour, and she is never-the-less happy for how she did.
"I don't like men that put their hands on me," she said. "The security guards were not for me at all. They wouldn't give me the mic, they mishandled me, and I just didn't like the men bullying me. I couldn't be myself."
"I think she had her people there, and once I saw that the audience didn't favour me, I wasn't willing to deliver anything to them. They were already on her side, but I have 2023 to prove that I am the real deal. It's entertainment, and I feel good."
