Dancehall artiste Suspense is in a cheerful mood this Christmas. The entertainer said that with COVID-19 imposing itself on 2020, with a 'stay-at-home Christmas' being encouraged, she has to come up with something to make the season a little more exciting. This is in the form of her latest single, Cheerful Giving, a sensual track that encourages couples to be each other's gifts this season.

"Tis the season to be merry, and dah song yah merry bad. It is going to give you the Christmas vibes that we are not having this year," she said.

Suspense said she decided to record Cheerful Giving because she has been feeling the Christmas vibe and wanted to share it with her fans. It was released last Tuesday.

"I could have come wid a dancing song, but mi did wah do something sexy and fun. I know this type of song may not go into the new year, but it was really about the season for me. I didn't hear any idea of anybody coming out with a Christmas single, and so mi say make mi do one. We can't go out and do much, but we can make things as festive as possible inside," the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall winner said.

The entertainer said the song is an intimate one geared at igniting a flame between couples, especially those who have been having a hard time keeping the spark alive during lockdown.

"Mi want the woman dem be dem man gifts this season, because inna di intro me say 'see yuh gift yah'. The song also doubles as a single that promotes safe sex, because mi also a tell people say 'put a bow pan the thing and be merry merry'. That is saying, put on a condom and do unu thing. We want unu gwaan wid unu self, but be safe at the same time," Suspense said.
