The dynamic music producers of Silverbird Records label have issued a challenge to aspiring artiste to demonstrate their skill and 'Kill It in a Minute' through a freestyle challenge.

Record producer Junior 'Chambah' Stevens believes that the challenge, which is being done on social media, could help identify the next rising star.

Under the challenge, persons are required to download the Silverbird Records-produced rhythm, presently called 'Miami Vibes', from the link on the Instagram profiles, record a video freestyling on the rhythm and post it with the hashtag #killitinaminute to their profiles.

"Young, aspiring artistes message continuously, seeking assistance or wanting the opportunity to exhibit their talent, and there have been several that demonstrate great potential, but as a producer, choosing one and leaving the other behind, turns into a challenge itself," Chambah told The STAR.

Each entrant must be social media followers of Chambah, ZJ Liquid and Cover Art Express. The competition closes on Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m., after which the winner will be determined.

The freestyle challenge, Chambah said, "has potential to become something bigger, especially on social media where a lot of persons have put their focus; it can uncover new and promising talent".

A CHALLENGE

ZJ Liquid shared the same sentiment. He told The STAR, "It is called a challenge; in retrospect, we are challenging the youths to go hard. From that they will get the real, direct response from the people, and can see where they are even going wrong with their flow or lyrics. Chambah is a big producer and from me a push it, them still benefit; all that they need to do is participate by formulating good lyrics and it can work for the future."

Two winners will be selected. They will get the opportunity to record their track professionally with Silverbird Records, popular for producing with seasoned Jamaican entertainers such as Tommy Lee Sparta, Samantha J, Vybz Kartel and Gyptian, as well as Ghana-born reggae-dancehall musician Shatta Wale.
