JahDon treats children in Canaan Heights
Reggae artiste and Canaan Heights, Clarendon native, JahDon held the 'Yutes They Are The Future' Kids' treat over the holidays to celebrate the youth within his community.
Having a treat in Canaan Heights was significant to the artiste as it is his birthplace and, over the years, he has observed crime and violence erode the great environment he knew growing up.
The treat was named after one of the artiste's songs, Yutes They Are The Future (on his Congo Bongo EP).
It was a fun day filled with food, music and a bounce-a-bout house. A few local businesses and residents assisted with donations.
Music was sponsored by local disc jockey DJ Brain Cell and fellow Clarendon artiste Izan. JahDon's music team took over the kitchen and served the children throughout day.
School supplies and hardcover books were distributed. There were close to 150 youth in attendance. The entertainer/entrepreneur plans to make the treat an annual event.
