Reggae artiste Hitman Walle has teamed up with Ghanaian artiste Blackka Tee for a collaboration called 'Emperor' that is ruling the digital stores and airwaves in the African nation.

"The song was first released in 2013 but has seen a dramatic resurgence after I re-released it on my album last year. Blackka Tee called me and said that the song is playing in every club and on several radio stations, and on the road, the taxis and buses are playing it. I feel so overjoyed," Hitman Walle said.

The song was produced by Selassie from Ghana.

"Right now, promoters are calling about possible shows in Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa in the next couple of months," Walle said.

Hitman Walle forged a friendship with Blackka Tee in 2013.

"I received a call from a big radio DJ from Ghana that they wanted me and Blackka Tee to do a combination together, and that's how it started. And to see now that the song is blowing up all over Ghana and spreading to Nigeria and South Africa is a blessing. It shows that music is so powerful and timeless," he said.

Blackka Tee is ecstatic about the song's success as it is his first dancehall hit in his home country.

"I got inspired to writing Emperor after my eye caught ... a confrontation between a class teacher and a student. It has been a long journey, and to see the song finally take off is a real blessing. Dancehall a the realest music," he said.

The song has jumped on playlists in several other African countries.
